Safety Precedes Production
No schedule, budget, or client pressure will cause Cayman to compromise safety. Production is never so urgent that we cannot take time to do our work safely.
Stop Work Authority — Every Employee
Every Cayman employee — not just supervisors — is authorized and required to stop work when an unsafe condition exists. No retaliation. No exceptions.
Competent Person On Every Site
A designated competent person per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.20(b) is present and responsible for identifying hazards and authorizing corrective action on all job sites.
Daily Job Site Inspections
Supervisors conduct documented daily inspections to identify and correct safety violations before work begins. No assumption is made that a site is safe.
Full PPE Compliance
All required personal protective equipment is provided, maintained, and enforced as a condition of employment — no exceptions for comfort or convenience.
Incident Investigation & Root Cause

Subcontractor Management
Our Standards Apply to Everyone on Our Sites
Cayman’s safety culture extends beyond our own employees. Every subcontractor working on a Cayman-managed project must meet our safety standards — in writing — before work begins.
Our Subcontractor Management Plan and Open Letter to Subcontractors are formally documented in our HSE Handbook. Safety compliance is a condition of engagement — not a request.
Subcontractor Safety Requirements
All subcontractors engaged by Cayman Construction LLC must comply with the following before mobilizing to any job site:
- Execute Cayman's written Subcontractor Safety Contract
- Provide proof of current insurance coverage meeting Cayman's minimum requirements
- Demonstrate compliance with applicable OSHA 29 CFR 1926 standards
- Provide evidence of employee safety training and competent person designation
- Submit to Cayman's site safety inspections and Stop Work Authority
- Report all incidents and near-misses to Cayman's Safety Coordinator immediately
